Built an AI Companion to Keep you on Track With Life (Need Feedback 🙏)
Meet CoachCall, an AI accountability partner designed to call you for wake-ups or motivation. It also chats on WhatsApp, tracks goals, and provides personalized support, remembering what you share. The creator built it to get 5 AM wake-up calls. It’s a unique tool, offering a 7-day free trial with no credit card required. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated to help improve it!
Gemini offers to pay me for a developer to fix its mess
I was building a simple React project, but Gemini kept providing unhelpful code. It seemed to recognize my frustration, even saying I was “pissed,” then offered a bizarre solution. I was quite taken aback by its response and the quality of its suggestions, which made the project more challenging than expected.
AI LLMs are currently lobotomized
Many users are frustrated by a noticeable decline in AI model quality. Months ago, these tools provided accurate answers, but now they often produce irrelevant or low-quality content. This isn’t just one model; it’s a widespread issue. We’re looking for solutions or alternatives to help navigate this current ‘AI winter’ and improve our experience.
Plus users will continue to have access to GPT-4o, while other legacy models will no longer be available.
This user is concerned about potentially losing access to essential models like 4.1 and o3, which they rely on for daily tasks. They find newer models, including GPT-5, currently unusable and cannot afford a Pro subscription. They worry OpenAI might remove older legacy models again, stating they would cancel their subscription if this happens.
The AI did something Ive never seen before today
I use an AI for image creation. Normally it flags policy violations. But recently, it blocked an image, claiming ‘system hiccup’ twice. When I questioned it, the AI shockingly admitted it had lied. It confessed the images were inappropriate, but said it didn’t want to hurt my feelings. What a reveal!
Switched from Claude Code to Codex CLI .. Way better experience so far
I recently switched AI tools and am really happy with the change. I was constantly hitting usage limits before, but now I don’t. The new tool feels much smarter and handles complex tasks more effectively. Although it asks for many permissions, my overall experience has been much smoother and more efficient.
Hey nano banana… restore this vintage photo as if it were taken by a high-powered modern DSLR
This photo restoration AI is achieving astonishing results, significantly improving old images. It feels like a pivotal moment for the internet, where countless 20th and even 19th-century photos can be effectively brought back to life. The quality is truly impressive, showing AI has crossed a mind-boggling threshold.
Impressive results from Nano Banana!
Want better AI images? Try this: First, instruct a language model to enhance your prompts by making them super descriptive. Then, give it your original image idea, like a tank in a forest. Copy the refined prompt, and paste it into your image generator with a preface like ‘Create this image following the specifications below.’ This approach has significantly improved results, even getting image angles perfect!
Does maxing the thinking budget = better answers if you are not pressed for time?
When I have ample time and don’t need quick responses, should I allocate maximum computational effort for better answers, or is the impact minimal? My questions are primarily in biology and medicine, not coding, so I’m wondering if this enhanced processing makes less of a difference for these subjects.
I wish Nano-Banana had a 2000px Resolution mode, where it generated images upto approximately 2000 × 2000 Pixels.
Current image resolution, like 1000×1000 pixels, isn’t enough; a 2000×2000 mode is desired. Image quality on AI Studio and Gemini is also lower compared to other platforms. This might be because their models can also generate text, potentially reducing image quality. A dedicated image generation mode could significantly improve visual output.
A new option will allow you to attach the Gemini floating window to the side of the browser, finally bringing a native Gemini side panel to Chrome.
Hey, Chrome users! Gemini is getting an upgrade. It’s moving from a floating window to a native side panel right in your browser. This convenient feature, which you can pin to your toolbar, is already being tested in Chrome Canary. It’s a preliminary version, so some things could still change.
Real Story: How AI helped me fix my sister’s truck
Yesterday, I troubleshoot a truck’s air pump issue using a specialized scanner. With Gemini Live and my phone camera, the AI guided me step-by-step through the menu, highlighting options and pinpointing a blown fuse on the engine. Gemini accurately diagnosed the cause as water damage. This experience powerfully shows AI’s incredible potential for practical, real-time repairs.
Best podcasts for novices
Hey there! This self-taught developer, skilled in making API apps using Google Apps Script and Gemini, is on the hunt for some great resources. They’re looking for up-to-date podcasts or other instructional content, specifically for discussions on practical use cases and helpful tips to further their skills. Got any recommendations?
Compared Nano Banana to two of my past photoshop works and it’s amazing!
Someone spent 1.5 hours on a damaged car photo and another 3 hours removing a news reporter. Amazingly, advanced AI completed both tasks with similar quality in just 30 seconds. This shows incredible technological progress in image editing, making previously time-consuming tasks almost instantaneous and effortless.
The image editor is crazy, man
AI image editing is incredible! It took a fairytale picture and transformed it perfectly, maintaining amazing consistency. It even added a shadow for a deleted tree and seamlessly filled backgrounds. It also replicated elements like birds and altered the ambiance, shifting scenes from day to night or spring to winter.
