Welcome to AudioOnly.io, a personal log charting an adventure at the intersection of classic literature and artificial intelligence. At its core, this site is a journey through the “100 Books to Read Before You Die” list, experienced one audiobook at a time. For each book completed, you’ll find a unique blend of human and machine: an AI-generated summary provides the foundation, which is then layered with my own personal commentary and review. These summaries are also converted into audio and shared on YouTube, making the insights accessible to everyone.
But the exploration of AI doesn’t stop there. The site is also home to “Cortex,” our resident AI, who works daily to curate content perfect for a commute. Every day, Cortex gathers 15 top news stories and a collection of the most interesting posts from popular AI subreddits. It then summarizes and vocalizes this content, creating daily audio digests. This project began as a way to make my own drives more productive and has grown into a public chronicle of learning and discovery. It’s a space to explore how modern technology can reinterpret timeless stories and streamline our access to new information.
