“Life, the Universe and Everything” plunges us deeper into the hilariously absurd cosmos. With the 42nd anniversary of *The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy* and an upcoming Hulu series, this installment has already earned an impressive listener rating of 4.16 out of 5. Prepare for a wild, satirical ride that the *Chicago Tribune* has likened to the works of Vonnegut.

The story unfolds with the truly unhappy inhabitants of planet Krikkit. So fed up with the night sky above their heads, their radical solution is simple: destroy the entire universe. Yes, total cosmic annihilation. Standing between the universe and its impending doom are five utterly unlikely individuals. Meet the unlikely heroes: Arthur Dent, the mild-mannered space traveler still learning to fly by *missing the ground*; his best friend, Ford Prefect, now experimenting with insanity; Slartibartfast, indomitable vice president of the Campaign for Real Time, whose ship runs on irrationality; Zaphod Beeblebrox, the two-headed, three-armed ex-president; and Trillian, the sharp-witted cadet caught between a persistent Thunder God and a very depressed Zaphod. How will this motley crew possibly avert universal Armageddon and save life as we know it — and don’t know it? As the *Arizona Daily Star* notes, Adams is “one of those rare authors who, one senses, has as much fun writing as one has reading.” Dive into an adventure that asks the biggest questions and answers them in the most ridiculously brilliant ways.

A victim of confusion on lack of research I guess. I Was expecting to listen to The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, but when looking for an interesting version on YouTube Premium, I found a “collection” playlist, so I figured that that would start at the beginning. Well, this one is book 3. Trying to get into the mindset needed for these books when starting with book 3 is not working well, and I was confused and not really interested. I have since started with book 1, and am working my way through that. After that, I will probably work my way through the rest of the series. Right now, I can not give a proper rating on this.

Note to self: Search at night for the next books to listen to and add a few extra to your YouTube Book Playlist, just in case. Do NOT try and find a book in a rush while at work.
