Imagine a life of perfect, unyielding routine. That’s Phileas Fogg for you – a man whose very existence is a testament to precision and punctuality. But one fateful evening, within the hallowed, smoke-filled walls of London’s Reform Club, this bastion of habit makes an outrageous wager: he bets his entire fortune that he can circumnavigate the globe in precisely eighty days. This daring challenge, beloved by readers who’ve rated it an impressive 3.95 out of 5 stars, ignites an adventure that will shatter his meticulously ordered world forever.

With barely a moment’s hesitation, Fogg, along with his utterly bewildered new valet, Passepartout, embarks on an exhilarating dash from Dover, setting in motion a breathless global odyssey. Their path is paved with extraordinary encounters and unexpected perils, taking them across vibrant landscapes and into the heart of bustling cities, from the bustling bazaars of India to the wild frontiers of America. No mode of transport is too unconventional – whether by steamship, train, or even elephant – as they relentlessly pursue their impossible deadline. But a determined detective, convinced Fogg is a bank robber, dogs their every step, adding another layer of suspense to an already high-stakes race. Will Fogg, against all odds and the relentless ticking of the clock, truly make it back to London to claim his victory, or will time, or perhaps a persistent pursuer, finally run out?

Not as good as 20.000 Leagues Under The Sea, but still an awesome book to listen to. It grabbed me from the beginning and held on to me until the end. Must listen !
